Above and below, photos from the original cast of "Zeppelin."
Both "Midstream" and "Zeppelin" were completed and ready for release as silent films by the Tiffany-Stahl studio before the decision was made to turn them into "talkies." The original cast of "Zeppelin" featured Conway Tearle co-starring with Claire Windsor (seen in photo above) and had Larry Kent and Duke Martin in the cast under the direction of Reginald Barker. Major changes were made to salvage the film. Edward Sloman was brought in as a new director and Ricardo Cortez and Virginia Valli became the new talking co-stars of the film. Claire Windsor and Larry Kent were entirely dropped from the cast. The new "talking" footage was spliced into the original silent version, given the new name of "The Lost Zeppelin," and released on December 20, 1929.
